Amrut Bagheera is an Indian single malt finished in sherry casks, bottled at 46% in a 50cl bottle. The label shows the Mysore Palace.
It is made from 99% unpeated and 1% peated malted barley, so the peat stays in the background and shows mainly on the palate.
The nose brings garam masala, overripe banana, coffee bean, hazelnut and prune juice, with mentholated raisins and salted fudge. On the palate are Agen prunes, raisins, vanilla and stewed apples, then truffle, smoke and salted lemon marmalade. The finish has cola candy, gentle sweetness and leather.
