Amrut Cask Strength - Indian Single Malt (70cl, 61.8%)

Amrut Cask Strength is an Indian single malt bottled undiluted at 61.8% in a 70cl bottle, neither chill-filtered nor coloured. It is part of the core range from Amrut, which fills its own whisky. The house style of barley, bourbon cask character and an oily texture comes through without reduction. A little water can bring out the stone fruit and biscuit notes. The nose combines pronounced bourbon cask notes and rich malted barley with caramelised biscuit, coffee and spice. The palate opens bittersweet with oak and barley, then a soft oily texture and a distinct blood orange note give way to buttery tones. The finish is long, with oak, bourbon notes, dark sugar and cocoa.
