Amrut – Fusion Indian Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 50%)

Amrut Fusion is an Indian single malt aged in oak barrels and bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The colour is golden yellow. The nose is heavy and thickly oaked, with barley-sugar notes wrapped in soft smoke. On the palate the smoke turns to full peat, alongside oaky vanilla, barley fruitiness and a note like sherry trifle, even though no sherry casks are involved. A middle of intense chocolate fudge develops. The finish is dry with peat and oak, with molassed sweetness carrying the malt through and spices rising at the end.
