Amrut – Fusion (70cl, 50%)

An Indian single malt from the Amrut distillery, bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. The mashbill combines unpeated Indian barley with peated Scottish barley, and the whisky first appeared in 2009. It is typically described as clean barley and fruity notes with a strong peaty undertone. The nose is heavy, thickly oaked and complex, with barley-sugar notes wrapped in soft smoke. On the palate the smoke turns to warming, full peat alongside a sherry trifle note, with oaky vanilla custard, barley fruitiness and an intense chocolate fudge middle.
