Amrut Kadhambam is an Indian single malt bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. This is Batch 6, the 2017 release.
The name means 'combination' or 'mixture' in Tamil, a language spoken in Tamil Nadu in southern India. The whisky was matured in rum, sherry and brandy casks, so the aromas and flavours of all three are combined.
The distillery's notes describe a rich, floral and honeyed nose with nuts, new oak, vanilla and tropical fruit. The palate brings candied fruit, subtle oak, a light dusting of peat and integrated spice, and the finish is warm, complex, dry and long.
