Amrut – Kadhambam Single Malt Indian Whisky (70cl, 50%)

Amrut Kadhambam is an Indian single malt matured in rum, sherry and brandy barrels. Kadhambam means 'mixture' or 'combination' in Tamil, a name that fits a whisky drawn from three kinds of cask. It is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. The colour is polished copper. The nose is densely packed with sweet spices, charred oak and nuttiness, and after a few minutes a peaty side appears, with smouldering cedar and pine cone. On the palate there is weighty malt with lively pepper and dried fruit. The finish is lightly acidic, tannic and chewy, with cigar box wood and flashes of dried fruit.
