Amrut – Neidhal Batch No. 01 Peated (2021) (70cl, 46%)

This is a peated Indian single malt from Amrut, the first batch in the Single Malts of India series. It was bottled by the distillery in July 2021 at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Neidhal means coast or sea, and the whisky pairs Indian malt with peated barley for a smoky profile with maritime undertones. The nose shows peat smoke, ash, sea salt and light citrus. The palate is full and powerful, with smoke, malt, peppery spice and a subtle sweetness for balance. The finish is long, dry and smoky, with lingering peat and a salty edge.
