Amrut Peated Cask Strength is an Indian single malt whisky aged in oak barrels and bottled at 62.8% in a 70cl bottle. It is golden yellow in colour.
The nose brings gristy smoked barley, kippers with salted butter and a peppery bite. The palate starts youthful, then turns intensely malty before a healthy measure of drier oak. The finish is delicate and elegant, with the peat only just present. Sugarless, medium roast Mysore coffee comes through, followed by a bourbon-like trail, soft liquorice and molasses sugar.
