Amrut Peated is an Indian single malt bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is made with peated barley malt from Scotland, at a peat level of 24 ppm, then distilled and matured in oak casks at Amrut in Bengaluru, where the climate is tropical. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose is dry peat smoke with a hint of old leather and a touch of citrus. The palate opens with soft, molasses-like sweetness before the peat grows stronger and the taste turns drier and spicier. The finish is clear and deep, with butterscotch, vanilla and peat smoke.
