Amrut – Peated Indian Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 46%)

This is a peated single malt from Amrut in India, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery is described as coming from the land of the Great Himalayas, and the whisky as rich and intense. The nose combines sweet cured bacon, smoke, malt and sweet peat with a touch of caramel. On the palate it is very fruity and tart, with plenty of malt, while the peat stays in the background. The finish is medium in length, with peat emerging at the end alongside fruit teas.
