Amrut Raj Igala is a single malt made from malted barley grown in Punjab and matured in ex-bourbon casks. Its name refers to the king of the eagles in Indian mythology.
The nose opens with pear and peach, followed by toasted oak and vanilla-rich barley. On the palate there is honeyed fruit and peat smoke with a touch of black pepper. The finish carries lasting peaty warmth and a lightly sweet hint of liquorice.
