Amrut Rye is an Indian single malt whisky bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was first released in 2016 and is described as the first Indian single malt made from rye.
The rye is malted, and European rye was used. The whisky matured in American oak casks. A further batch followed in 2023, limited to around 1200 bottles.
Aromas and flavours begin with freshly baked bread and something tropical, then move into floral and spicy notes.
