Amrut Single Cask Oloroso is an Indian single malt drawn from a single ex-Oloroso sherry butt, cask #3897. It is bottled at 60% ABV in a 700ml bottle, for Australia. The whisky was reduced gently and siphoned, a process that kept its natural oils and texture. The nose is rich and deep, with sandalwood, orange peel, supple leather and toffee. The palate is thick, with orange-liqueur-soaked bundt cake, dark caramelised sugar and deep nuttiness. The finish is long and mouth-filling.
