Amrut – Single Malt Peated Cask Strength

Amrut Peated Cask Strength is a peated single malt from the Amrut distillery in Bangalore, India. It matures in American ex-bourbon casks. The name comes from Hindu mythology, in which amrut is the nectar drunk by the gods. The distillery was founded in 1948, just after the end of British colonial rule. The nose is surprisingly restrained on peat, with toffee and fruit. On the palate there is peat, fruit and sweet, overripe banana. The finish brings sweetness, campfire smoke, barley and overripe fruit.
