Angel's Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon is the signature bourbon of the Louisville distillery, sold in a 75cl bottle.
It is matured for around four to six years in new, charred 53-gallon American white oak barrels. It then spends up to six more months in 60-gallon ruby port casks from Portugal, which add dark fruit and sweetness while the bourbon character stays in place.
The nose is vanilla, raisins, maple syrup and toasted nuts. On the palate come vanilla, ripe fruit, maple, toast and bitter chocolate, followed by a clean, lingering finish with a gentle Madeira-like note.
