Angel's Envy Rye is a finished rye whiskey from Louisville Distilling Company, made from a high-rye mashbill and sold in a 75cl bottle.
After maturing, it spends up to 18 months in a secondary maturation in hand-selected Caribbean rum casks that previously held French cognac. The finish adds a tropical sweetness over the spice of the rye.
The nose brings maple syrup, candied nuts, ripe banana and toasted oak. On the palate there is maple, brown sugar, vanilla and a touch of rye pepper, followed by a long, sweet finish of dark spice, maple and warm oak.
