Archie Rose – Double Malt Whisky (70cl, 40%)

This is a double malt from Archie Rose of Australia, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It combines the distillery's single malt with its rye malt whisky. The single malt was matured in Australian apera, sherry and bourbon casks, and the rye malt in virgin American oak casks. The two were then married together in a solera system. The flavour is described as bright and grassy from the malted rye, with fortified wine, vanilla and sweet malted barley. Notes include apricot jam on toasted rye bread, fragrant oak and a hint of milk chocolate. The finish brings honey-roasted macadamia nuts, ripe tropical fruit and baking spices.
