Archie Rose – Rum Cask Single Malt Whisky Limited Release (70cl, 46%)

This Archie Rose single malt is a limited release bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. Archie Rose is one of the few distilleries in the world producing both whisky and rum, and here its whisky is matured in its own Triple Molasses Rum casks. The nose opens with sticky date pudding, amaretto and peaches dipped in melted brown sugar, then walnut bread, marzipan and raisins. The palate starts velvety with stone fruit, caramel and rum and raisin ice cream, moving to bananas and peaches roasted in spice. The finish combines butterscotch, tropical fruit, toasted oak, chocolate and espresso.
