Archie Rose – Rye Malt Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Archie Rose Rye Malt Whisky is made in Sydney from malted rye and malted barley, bottled at 46% ABV in a 700ml bottle. It was named World's Best Rye Whisky at the World Whiskies Awards 2020. The distillery chose malted rye over the more common unmalted rye, and matured the spirit in virgin American oak casks that had been air-dried for 36 months. The casks sat in the maritime air of coastal Sydney. The nose and palate bring spiced custard, ginger, stone fruit and baked apple pie. A fresh, herbal finish lingers on the palate.
