Archie Rose – x St Ali Blasphemy Coffee Whisky (70cl, 40%)

Blasphemy is a coffee whisky made as a collaboration between Archie Rose and the coffee roasters St Ali. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. Archie Rose single malt, made from a six malt mash bill, is combined with St Ali's Orthodox and Wide Awake coffees. The two coffees, one of them made by cold drip, were macerated and used to bring cask strength whisky down to bottling strength. The coffee is said to bring out the chocolate and roasted malt character of the whisky. It can be drunk neat or in a Boulevardier. Tasting notes describe stewed apples, plum jam and fresh berries, followed by creme caramel, roasted hazelnuts, amaretto and dark chocolate.
