This is a single cask Ardbeg from Islay, distilled in 1993 and bottled in 2020 by Wm Cadenhead's for its Authentic Collection. It spent 26 years in a bourbon hogshead and comes in a 70cl bottle at a cask strength of 53.7% ABV.
It is non-chill filtered and uncoloured, and 240 bottles were filled.
The nose shows restrained peat smoke, aged oak, a little sea salt, citrus peel and vanilla. On the palate it is firm, with stronger smoke, charred wood, gentle sweetness and a mineral edge. The finish is long and drying, with smoke, soft spice and a touch of brine.
