Ardbeg Anthology The Harpy's Tale is a 13-year-old Islay single malt Scotch whisky in a 75cl bottle at 46% ABV. It is the first Ardbeg to be matured in Sauternes wine casks, which are used alongside bourbon casks.
The malt is peated to roughly 50 to 55 ppm and distilled in Ardbeg's copper pot stills, which have a purifier fitted to the spirit still. Ardbeg has made whisky on Islay's southern coast since 1815.
Briny peat smoke, iodine, almond and herbs open the nose. The palate is soft and oily, with almond nougat, vanilla, jammy apricot, treacle and aniseed. The finish is long and smoky, with cinnamon, oak moss and tea leaves.
