Ardbeg – Uigeadail (70cl)

Ardbeg Uigeadail is a cask-strength Islay single malt, non-chill filtered and named after the loch that supplies the distillery's water. It combines whisky matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, setting intense peat smoke against sherry sweetness. It comes in a 70cl bottle. The nose has peat smoke, dark chocolate and treacle, with dried fruit, espresso and sea salt. The palate is full-bodied and viscous: fruitcake and honeyed malt, then medicinal peat smoke, black pepper and liquorice, with dark berries and toasted nuts. The finish is very long and warming, with smoky bacon, roasted coffee and a sweet, tarry note.
