Balvenie Home Malted is a 12-year-old Speyside single malt, bottled at 47.5% in a 70cl bottle.
Balvenie takes its name from Balvenie Castle nearby, which the source of the name links to the meaning 'town of luck'. The distillery is one of several in Dufftown, and William Grant & Sons built it in 1892 from the castle's ruined guest house.
Today it has eight stills, with Kininvie distillery on the same site since 1990. Its water comes from the Robbie Dubh spring, also used by Glenfiddich.
