This is the 2021 edition of Balvenie 25 Year Old, a Speyside single malt bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle.
The distillery takes its name from the nearby Balvenie Castle. It stands in Dufftown, sometimes called the whisky capital of Speyside, and William Grant & Sons built it in 1892 from the remains of the castle's ruined guest house.
It now runs eight stills, and Kininvie distillery has shared the site since 1990. The water comes from the Robbie Dubh spring, which also supplies Glenfiddich.
