This is Balvenie 12 Year Old Single Barrel, a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle at 47.8% ABV.
The name comes from nearby Balvenie Castle and is said to mean town of luck. William Grant & Sons built the distillery in Dufftown in 1892, using the remains of the castle's ruined guest house. It now runs eight stills, and the Kininvie distillery has stood on the same site since 1990. The water comes from the Robbie Dubh spring, which also supplies Glenfiddich.
