This is Balvenie 21 Year Old Port Wood, a Speyside single malt bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The Port wood in its name is the defining element of the expression.
Balvenie stands in Dufftown, a town often called the unofficial whisky capital of Speyside, and takes its name from nearby Balvenie Castle. William Grant & Sons built the distillery in 1892, largely by their own hands, from the remains of the castle's ruined guest house. It is often described as the little sister of Glenfiddich, and both draw their water from the Robbie Dubh spring.
