Balvenie – 14 Years Caribbean Cask (70cl, 43%)

Balvenie 14 Years Caribbean Cask is a single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in traditional oak whisky casks and then finished in casks that held Caribbean rum. To prepare those casks, malt master David C. Stewart MBE filled American oak casks with his own blend of West Indian rums. Once he judged them ready, the rum was replaced with the 14-year-old spirit. The Balvenie honeyed character is joined by toffee and a hint of fruit. The nose is rich, sweet and creamy toffee with fresh fruit. The palate has vanilla and sweet oak, with a fruitiness that develops over time. The finish is soft and lingering.
