A Speyside single malt from The Balvenie, bottled at 48.5% ABV after a minimum of forty years of maturation. It is in a 750ml bottle.
The whisky comes from casks of American oak, European oak and sherry butts, and it is bottled without chill filtration.
The nose is dried apricot and orange marmalade with floral notes, citrus peel and ginger, then vanilla and oak. The palate begins with orange blossom and candied ginger, moving to cinnamon, honey and sherry-soaked fruit. The finish is warm and very long, with honey, citrus and a last trace of dried fruit.
