This Kentucky straight bourbon from Bardstown Bourbon Co. is a collaboration with Silver Oak, the Napa producer of California cabernets aged in oak barrels. It is bottled at 108 proof in a 75cl bottle.
The base is a custom blend of bourbons from Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana and Georgia, with ages ranging from 9 to 14 years in the mashbill breakdown. The blend was then finished for 17 months in Silver Oak cabernet barrels.
The nose shows baked strawberry, plum and roasted nuts with cinnamon and cocoa. The palate is full-bodied, with caramel and fig leading to lightly tannic oak, spice and blackberry.
