A Barolo from Giacomo Fenocchio, from the Cannubi cru, one of the oldest in the denomination. The vines have an average age of 40 years. The grapes are vinified by the traditional Langhe method, with long maceration on the lees, spontaneous fermentation and ageing of at least 30 months in Slavonian oak casks.
It shows a garnet red colour with bright ruby reflections. The bouquet is complex, with officinal herbs and faded flowers, liquorice root, clove and black pepper. On the palate it is dry, with a perfect harmony between dense tannins and freshness, and a long persistence of beeswax and chinotto. It suits important meat dishes such as game.
