Basil Hayden Kentucky Straight Bourbon belongs to the Beam Small Batch Collection.
It is built on a corn base with small grains added for a spicy taste, and a generous share of rye brings warmth and balance. Booker Noe created this high-rye bourbon in 1992, drawing on a recipe inspired by the whiskey pioneer Meredith Basil Hayden Sr.
It is described as having notes of peppermint, pepper and citrus, with a hint of fruit and a spicy finish.
