Big Peat 12 Year Old is a blended malt from Douglas Laing's Remarkable Regional Malts collection, made from single malt whiskies from the island of Islay alone.
It is matured for a minimum of 12 years and bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Maritime peat smoke meets sweetness, charred oak and warming spice.
The nose has fresh sea air and peat smoke with charred oak, sweet malt and hints of citrus. The palate is rich and smoky, with peat, coal dust, salted caramel, citrus and spice. The finish is long, with maritime smoke, charred oak, sea salt and a touch of sweetness.
