Big Peat Double Grand Cru Edition is a six-year-old Islay blended malt Scotch whisky from Douglas Laing's Signature Series, bottled at 50.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in Bordeaux oak and then finished in Rioja wine casks, so two wines shape it.
Big Peat is a marriage of single malts from Islay alone. Caol Ila brings sweetness, Bowmore balance, Ardbeg a medicinal, earthy quality and Port Ellen a degree of elegance. It belongs to the Remarkable Regional Malts range.
