Big Peat Christmas Edition 2022 is a cask strength Islay blended malt from Douglas Laing, bottled at 54.2% in a 70cl bottle. It is the twelfth release in the Christmas series of Big Peat bottlings and belongs to the Remarkable Regional Malts range.
The blend is built on whiskies from Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen, among others.
The nose opens with a hint of fresh sea air, then caramel and peat smoke. The palate is malty, with rich earthy tones, oak, marshmallow sweetness and wintry smoke.
