Big Peat Christmas Edition 2023 is Douglas Laing's festive release of its Islay blended malt, bringing together single malts from across the island. It is bottled at cask strength, 54.8% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose combines dense peat smoke and sea spray with sweet malt, citrus peel, charred wood and warming spice. The palate is full-bodied and smoky, with earthy peat, salted sweetness, citrus, pepper and toasted malt. The finish is long and smoky, with sea salt, pepper, charred oak and sweet malt.
