Big Peat is a blended malt from Douglas Laing, in a 70cl bottle at 46%. It is made from malt whisky from Caol Ila, Bowmore, Ardbeg and Port Ellen, and shows a strong Islay influence with plenty of peaty character.
The nose is peppery peat with hints of chocolate, coffee and cedar, alongside spices, walnuts and almond, a touch of cinnamon and oily smoke. The palate is straightforward and easy-going, with heavy smoke, cut grass, peanuts, herbs and peat.
