Big Peat Islay Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Big Peat is an Islay blended malt from Douglas Laing, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is a small batch bottling made only from Islay malt whiskies, among them Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen. It is bottled without colouring or chill-filtration. The nose is fresh, salty and clean, developing towards sweet malt dried over peat. On the palate come ashes, sweet tar, beaches and smoking chimneys. The finish is long and echoes the palate, with salty, tangy liquorice, smoke, bonfire ashes and a phenolic quality.
