Blanton's Black Edition Bourbon (70cl, 40%)

Blanton's Black Edition is a single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon made for the Japanese export market through Takara Shuzo, Blanton's original Japanese importer. It is bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 70cl bottle. It is distilled at Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, Kentucky, from high-rye Mash Bill #2, with barrels hand-selected from Warehouse H and aged for a minimum of 8 years. Each bottle has a black label and one of the eight racehorse stoppers that spell B-L-A-N-T-O-N-S. The nose is dry and powerful, with honey, rye, dried fruit, vanilla, dark chocolate, walnut and hazelnut. The palate brings caramel, apple, dark cherry, butter, pepper and oak. The finish is long, with toffee apple, pecan and vanilla.
