Blanton's Gold Edition (70cl, 51.5%)

Blanton's Gold Edition is a single barrel bourbon from the Buffalo Trace single barrel series, bottled at 103 proof, or 51.5%, in a 70cl bottle. Blanton's was the first single barrel bourbon to restore the prestige of American whiskey, in 1984. Its recipe has a higher proportion of rye, which makes it drier and spicier, with cinnamon and nutmeg. It is described as long, complex and rich, with dried fruit, ripe plum, honeysuckle and spice. Black fruits, pecans and oak come through, with a touch of sweetness from honey and vanilla.
