W.L. Weller Full Proof is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon distilled at Buffalo Trace, in a 75cl bottle. It is bottled at 114 proof (57% ABV), the same strength at which it went into the barrel, and without chill filtration. Wheat replaces rye in the recipe, following the style developed by William Larue Weller. The first release came in June 2019.
The nose offers baked apples, vanilla and fiery cinnamon. The palate has vanilla bean, baking spices, sour cherries and cassia bark. The finish turns drier and a little medicinal, with spearmint, tannic oak, leather and milk chocolate truffles.
