Blanton's Gold Edition (75cl, 51.5%)

Blanton's Gold Edition is a single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, bottled at 51.5% ABV (103 proof). It comes in a 750ml bottle with the gold label and the horse and jockey stopper. The higher strength gives a bolder, more layered pour. Water can be added to open it up, or it can be taken neat. On the nose, spicy rye and tobacco come first, followed by caramel, honey, dark fruit and citrus. The palate carries rye, tobacco and honey, with charred oak and vanilla behind them, and the finish is extremely long and harmonious.
