Blanton's Original Single Barrel Bourbon (75cl, 46.5%)

Blanton's Original Single Barrel is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, bottled at 93 proof (46.5% ABV). Elmer T. Lee launched it in 1984 as the first commercially released single barrel bourbon, and named it after Albert Bacon Blanton. Every bottle is drawn from one barrel in the centre of Warehouse H, made from the high-rye Mash Bill #2. The barrel number and warehouse are printed on the bottle, and the red wax stopper comes in one of eight designs showing a racehorse and jockey. The nose is creamy vanilla, caramel and butterscotch with nutmeg, cinnamon and clove. The palate has sweet citrus, dried fruit, honey and corn over a firm rye backbone. The finish is medium-long, with corn, nutmeg and warm spice.
