Blanton's Single Barrel 2020 Special Release is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, bottled at 58.5% ABV (117 proof) without chill filtration. It marks the 1984 launch of Blanton's, the first bourbon sold commercially as a single barrel expression, created by Master Distiller Elmer T. Lee. Each barrel was hand-selected for the release, and the mash bill is Buffalo Trace's high-rye recipe. The nose brings dark chocolate, caramel, butter and a walnut and hazelnut earthiness. The palate is warm vanilla, oak, toasted nuts and rich spice, with butterscotch and honey. The finish is long, warm and deep.
