Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon (70cl, 46.5%)

Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon is a Kentucky bourbon distilled by Buffalo Trace in Frankfort. Launched in 1984 under master distiller Elmer T. Lee, it is taken from the centre-cut sections of Warehouse H and bottled at 46.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The mash bill is Buffalo Trace's high-rye recipe of corn, rye and malted barley. Each stopper carries a horse-and-jockey figure and one letter, and the eight together spell the brand name. The nose brings creamy vanilla, caramel and butterscotch with clove, nutmeg and cinnamon. The palate is dry vanilla with honey, caramel and corn, plus citrus and oak, and the finish is medium, with corn and nutmeg returning.
