This is a four-year-old high-rye Kentucky straight bourbon from Blue Run, bottled at 55.5% ABV (111 proof) in a 750ml bottle. The Commemorative Edition honours the Chicago Bears, with whom Blue Run is partnered as official bourbon, and carries custom packaging with a viceroy butterfly medallion.
The bourbon was distilled in 2017 by Jim Rutledge at Castle & Key, from a mashbill of 65% corn, 30% rye and 5% malted barley.
The nose is caramel, orange peel and toasted nut with baking spice. The palate is full-bodied, with brown sugar, roasted nuts, ripe stone fruit and firm rye spice. The finish is long, with clove, white tea and a dry close.
