Blue Spot 7 Year Old Cask Strength Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey (75cl)

Blue Spot is a single pot still Irish whiskey, matured for a minimum of seven years in bourbon barrels, sherry butts and Portuguese Madeira casks. It takes its name from the paint marks Mitchell & Son, the Dublin wine and spirits merchants founded in 1805, once used on casks to show how long each should rest. Blue stood for seven years. It is the only Spot bottled at cask strength, undiluted and non-chill filtered, so the strength shifts a little between batches. The mash combines malted and unmalted barley, and the spirit is triple distilled at Midleton. The nose brings pineapple, kiwi, green banana and lime zest, then pot still spice, baked apple, hazelnut and toasted wood. The palate is smooth and oily, with soft fruit, clove oil and cracked black pepper.
