Jameson Bow Street 18 Year Old Cask Strength, Batch 1/2018, is the first release in an annual series. It is a blend of pot still and grain Irish whiskeys, triple distilled at Midleton in County Cork, and bottled at 55.3% ABV (110.6 proof) without chill filtration. The blend matured for at least 18 years in American bourbon barrels and Spanish sherry butts. It was then recasked into first fill bourbon barrels for six to twelve months at Jameson's original home on Bow Street in Dublin. It comes in an engraved wooden box with a copper coin. The nose has toffee, spice, concentrated citrus, caramel and nut brittle. Toffee and oak lead the palate, with leather, vanilla, pepper, clove and a subtle sherry nuttiness. The finish is long, with oak, dark toffee and spice.
