Paddy's Old Irish Whiskey is a triple distilled blend of single pot still, single malt and single grain whiskeys, made at Midleton Distillery in County Cork. The whiskeys are aged in oak casks for four to seven years, and the blend is bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle.
Its roots go back to 1779 in Cork. It takes its name from Paddy O'Flaherty, a salesman for the Cork Distilleries Company, and was officially renamed in his honour in 1912.
The nose is nutty and malty, with woodland fragrances, soft spice and hints of honey and vanilla. The palate is light and crisp, with malty cereal, honey, gentle nuttiness and subtle charred wood. The finish is gentle, with mellow malt, soft sweetness and mild oak.
