Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition is a blended Irish whiskey from John Jameson & Son, distilled at Midleton Distillery in County Cork. It is the original release in the Caskmates Series, in a 750ml bottle at 40% ABV.
It began as a cask swap with Franciscan Well Brewery in Cork. Jameson barrels were used to age the brewery's stout, then refilled with triple distilled Jameson for a finishing period of around six months.
The nose brings hay, orchard fruit, hazelnut, milk chocolate and a soft hop note. The palate is creamy, with honey, vanilla cream, butterscotch and a touch of cocoa, and the finish is long and sweet with toffee, caramel and bitter cocoa.
